The 1876 association football match between the national teams representing Scotland and Wales took place on 25 March 1876 at Hamilton Crescent, Partick, football tops the home ground of the West of Scotland Cricket Club. Following public challenges issued in Glasgow and Edinburgh newspapers by The Football Association (FA) secretary Charles Alcock, the first encounter of five matches between teams representing England and Scotland took place in London on 5 March 1870 at The Oval, football kits resulting in a 1-1 draw. Both Linthouse and Port Glasgow Athletic had four points deducted. Linthouse were docked four points. In April 2008 as part of a major £550,000 relaunch of BBC News output by Lambie-Nairn, BBC World became ‘BBC World News’ and was updated in its look to match that used by all BBC news output, cool football kits and the BBC News Channel.
